Advent 2022

Welcome to Advent 2022 at Sampson’s Mills!

This Advent Season, we are focusing on “Advent in Plain Sight”. Our sermon series will help us connect everyday objects with biblical texts, reminding us throughout this season of God’s presence and power even in our ordinary, everyday lives.  For more details on the sermon series and Advent Worship Plan, click this link.

Advent Devotional: This year, take home devotionals are available on the table in the Narthex.

Christmas Caroling, December 14th:  Join our E.P.I.C. families for Christmas cheer, including caroling through the neighborhood. Festivities begin at 5:30pm (RSVP by emailing) or join at 7pm just for caroling.

Christmas Cantata, December 18th:  The choir has been rehearsing a beautiful Christmas Cantata that will be performed during our 10:30am worship on Sunday, December 18th.

Christmas Eve Service:  This year, our traditional candlelight service will be at 7pm. The service will feature brass, the choir and communion.

Christmas Day Service:  At our regular 10:30 am worship time, join us for a relaxed service of Lessons and Carols.

Mission/Service Opportunities

Our annual White Christmas Offering helps us provide for families in need of Christmas presents here in our community. Our fundraising goal for this project is $1200. Help us reach our goal! “White Christmas” designated envelopes are in the pews and in the narthex. Or, simply indicate “White Christmas” in the notes of your online contribution.

Sponsor a Francis-McClure Gift Bag for our second annual event teaming up with Francis McClure Elementary School. Help brighten a child’s Christmas by choosing a bag from the Narthex. Fill with stocking stuffers based on the age, gender and interests provided on the tag. Bags must be filled and returned by Sunday, December 11th.

Set aside an item a day for our food bank from this suggested list for a Reverse Advent Calendar.  Every Sunday, bring a bag or box of your contributions to the Narthex so they can be shared at our distributions on December 16th and January 20th. Available to volunteer on a distribution day?
